Aims of AECI

The objects for which the Association was founded are outlined on the first page of the AECI Book of Rules. Briefly, they are to project and promote the interests of members in any way concerning their trading. With this in view, the Executive Council - which is elected each year - is constantly endeavouring to obtain benefits for Association members in the pursuance of their business.

To achieve these aims members are represented by delegates to many bodies and organisations. Among the most important of these are:

The National Joint Industrial Council; at which conditions of employment and wage structures are determined;

Fas, where conditions of training and eduction of apprentices are established;

The Electro Technical Council of Ireland (ETCI) which is responsible for rules and regulations pertaining to quality of workmanship and standards of safety;

AECI has one director on the board of RECI.
